The seventh annual Rise and Shine 5K Walk and Run will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 with registration starting at 7 a.m. in Hall B of the George R. Brown Convention Center. The event will include a 5K Walk and Run,
a 1K fun run for kids and many activities for the whole family. Rise and Shine benefits The Rise School of Houston, a nationally recognized pre-school for children with and without Down syndrome and other disabilities.
All proceeds from the run go directly to benefit the children who attend the school. Sponsors are encouraged to have all of their employees, clients and vendors attend this great run. There will be prizes for the company
with the most team registrants, team spirit and best booth. This year, we are honoring two icons of the Houston Commercial Real Estate Community at the run. John Holland and Staman Ogilvie are long time champions of the
Rise School of Houston and we are so proud that they will be this year’s honorary grand marshals.
Schedule of Events:
Race Day Registration: 7:00 a.m.
Kids’ 1K: 8:00 a.m.
Rise and Shine 5K: 8:30 a.m.
Family Festival: 7 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
It’s About Time:
The 5K will be a timed event using D-tag from Chronotrack. No need to worry about picking up a chip, all you have to do is remove your chip from your race bib and attach it to your shoe.
5K Awards:
Awards will go to top male and female overall, masters and wheelchair, as well as top three runners male and female for 13 and under and five year divisions from 14 to 70+. No duplication of awards.

There will also be appearances by Chilly from the Aeros, Junction Jack from the Astros, Toro and the Texans Cheerleaders.
