The tenth annual Rise and Shine 5K Walk and Run will be held on Sunday, April 18th with registration starting at 12:00 noon at Reverchon Park in Dallas. The event will include a 5K walk and run,
The Johnny Stallings 1K Fun Run, and many activities for the whole family. The Rise and Shine benefits The Rise School of Dallas, a nationally recognized preschool specializing in the development
and education of children, from ages eighteen months to six years, with Down syndrome and other disabilities. All proceeds from the run go directly to benefit the children who attend the school.
Sponsors are encouraged to have all of their employees, clients and vendors attend this great run. There will be prizes for the company with the most team registrants, best team spirit, fastest
race time, and best tent.

It’s About Time:
RunFAR Racing Services, Inc., will use the new disposable road racing timing system created by ChronoTrack Systems. Timed Participants no longer have to register their timing chip at packet pick, or have it removed at the finish line. The new system allows race organizers to print an integrated bib and tag for each participant, encoding the runner’s bib number into the tag’s RFID chip. The peel-off, disposable portion of the bib becomes a tag that runners attach to their shoes. You can find instructions and more information on the new disposable tag timing system at www.run-far.com.

5K Awards:
Awards will go to top male and female Overall, Masters and Wheelchair. Top three for 14 & under and five-year divisions from 15-19 to 80+. No duplication of awards.
Family Festival:
The real celebration begins after you cross the finish line. Jolie Holliday band will kick off the Post-Race Party at 1:45pm. There will also be a DJ, clown, petting zoo, rock climbing wall, bounce houses, raffle, and free food and drinks.
